Matt and I have had a great week off work apart from the weather which really wasn't on our side for the first half of the week! Unfortunately for Spark she started the week with a visit to the vets as I found a lump on her tail and wanted them to take a sample which they duly did. Yet again I'm kicking myself that we haven't changed vets as they have been useless at getting back to me with the results! They got the results on Thursday but its only a vet that can tell us and despite me ringing a couple of times he never rang back. I'm furious and worried! I'm hoping I will hear tomorrow and that it is good news

We spent some time in the garden despite the rain trying to clean up our pond...it was gross! We have got rid of so much stuff in there and found a big frog and a newt in the process...they will have more space now!
We decided to do a 7 mile local walk on one of the wettest days which was so peaceful (no one else mad enough to be out walking!) and the doglets had a great time.
Toad got to be pub dog! He was shattered after such a long walk but was still bouncing along at the end despite being 13.5 years young!
On one of the nicer mornings we had a sheltie photoshoot with Bridget Davey who is an awesome dog photographer (she took the lovely bluebell photos last year) The theme was heather and ferns and the shelties just loved posing for her! Here is Brooke bean getting up close with the camera

Miss Sparkalina hates cameras so we took her for a separate walk and took a pic instead!
After that we spent the afternoon at Bru and Brookes breeder as she has a beautiful litter of pups (Bru's half siblings) I could have taken this little boy home! We also had a chat about future litter plans and I'm so excited about a pup hopefully next year fingers crossed!

A special mention for my Aunt and Uncle who celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary!! Huge congratulations to them! 🎉🎉🎉 My cousin had been super organised and got a cake with a wedding photo printed on it and some goodies and we surprised them with a family zoom call!
The last two days of out week off were spent on agility camp, it was insanely hard stuff but so exciting to watch Matt and Bru trying the courses. I'm hoping the videos will post as blogger was a pain last time! I will give it a go, fingers crossed! Spark also got a go doing some course running!

Here is Brooke having a play at my field this week
It has been so hot over the last couple of days! I taught workshops at a friends field on Friday and it was 33 degrees in the afternoon so I'm thrilled that everyone was happy to start early. I have honestly never started teaching workshops at 7am before! The dogs and people were fantastic and game to have a go at trying new things. Today has been over 30 degrees as well so we are all tired and wilting in the heat! We are off to our first covid safe show tomorrow (will do a separate blog post) and it sounds so different and a little weird but I'm sure that the dogs will enjoy being at a party again!
This week the number of coronavirus infections has risen again and a few places have imposed local closures and restrictions including Aberdeen and Preston. Some people definitely need a kick up the bum to remember that we are in the midst of a global pandemic!
We went for a long early morning walk to beat the heat and did some blackberry picking
Anyway onto my usual random selection of photos 😂 Did my second courgette cake during the week, it is such a good cake for hot weather as its quite refreshing (if a cake can be refreshing!) and moist sue to the courgette. It would probably be much healthier without the buttercream!!
These two had a coffee with me at the garden centre during the week, they are so photogenic!
My mostly purple petunias have now seemed to be mostly white! Some of them are all white!! They are still very pretty but I don't remember them doing this last year. The ones at the front are such a deep purple colour this photo doesn't do them justice.
We found a sunflower growing that we didn't plant and its turned out the biggest of the lot! The fence is 6ft and its not flowering yet so I think it will be bigger!
It has been so hot at night that the dogs have slept downstairs rather than in our room in crates. Bru is such a sensible boy and loves the cool mat
We went round to Matts Mums today and had a nice time pottering round the garden and having some fish and chips!

When we got home Spark was so tired that she went to bed and wouldn't move!
The shelties came out in the garden while we played molkky and Brooke had to stand in the box!

We have done a bit of training in the garden this week on tunnel/weave work here are some of the doglets doing various exercises
Bru - this was hard for him as he loves tunnels so we taught him to nose touch and then added the weave entry before progressing to the full set of weaves
It has been glorious weather again over the last week, we had a lovely time on Sunday with a leisurely long walk first thing including some blackberry picking and yummy brunch when we got home! We made a crumble with our blackberries too!
Does this count as cheating for Brodies conditioning exercises?!

Its currently raining so rather than working I thought I'd update my blog. Got home today to a parcel in the post with goodies in from my Mum, thanks Mum! 😘
On Thursday I took the younger two to a workshop with Dan and had a great time on a tricky course! Here is the course plan, not sure you will be able to read the numbers without zooming in but it was fun to run. Spark and I did it in bits and then tried the whole course together. Bru did all of it in bits except the weaves (super hard entry and exit!) I was absolutely thrilled with Spark for not going in the tunnel at all instead of the weaves! Dan also had us layer the long jump with the tunnel and get a blind cross in between 23 and 24 which was hard with a running dog walk!!
Here is Spark attempting the whole course, sadly she slipped in the weaves so I had to put her back in and I was late to cue the tunnel at 19 (my fault as Spark needs very early commands!) You can see Dan chasing me to get the blind in between 23 and 24 😂

Brooke Bean and Bru did a workshop on Friday on push rounds, they are a bit of a weakness for both dogs when doing them at a distance so it was perfect to concentrate on them. They were both absolutely fantastic and Brooke in particular was very independent!

On Friday night we went for a walk into the village and picked some blackberries for a crumble. The photo doesn't show how many there were!
We also picked the most enormous runner bean...pint glass for scale!!
On Saturday morning it was my turn to teach workshops rather than participate in them! I asked the girls if they wanted to come and help and this was the reaction...!
Whereas this little dude was very happy to come and help like usual!
My new phone makes me laugh as it identifies what you are taking a photo of and its convinced that the dogs are sometimes a 'kitty' 😂😂
In other news we have a new dog walk for the field and it is lovely!
