Spring photos of the gang plus Vyne

I had to venture to some bluebell woods last week to get some pretty photos of the doglets! It was so peaceful just wandering around and hanging out with the dogs

Branston Pickle is loving his training, he is now doing all of the equipment but we haven't sequenced seesaws enough or in different places to compete in agility yet. We have got two jumping runs our first KC show at the weekend so will report back how it goes! I'll be as fussy with him as we have been with Bru and Spark, if the course isn't flowing enough we will adjust it or not run it!

Bru got to do a workshop on his birthday with Dan which made his day! 💛

Someone is very tired after his training! Branston did a workshop with Nicola and Becky designed for training in a show environment. He coped really well with having another dog running the other side of the fence but was aware of it while in his waits! Such a good boy sequencing his weavies and dog walk in a new places and also doing his first seesaw away from home ❤

Bru competed at Vyne and was such a good boy, 5th with a held seesaw in champ agility, a refusal in champ jumping and made the final! Unfortunately he was E'd in the final but he was running so well and his weaves were fabulous!!

Sparkalina only did champ jumping and got E'd! Such a fun course as well and then we missed the agility as were watching Bru!

Miss Brooke Bean had her first scent work workshop yesterday and had the best time sniffing! She is learning to find cloves and seems to have a natural flair for it 💚

Bru qualifies for Olympia! And puppy camp exploits!

 One of Matts goals for this year with Bru was to qualify for the (not) Olympia Semi Final where the top ten dogs go through to do agility at Olympia Horse Show! It is so tough to qualify for as only the top three in each heat qualify and then you have to get through the semi final. But not only did he qualify but he won it despite Bru turning the wrong way on a jump (handler error!) 💛

Spark didn't have a qualifier in her height but she did win her agility run! 💜 At the age of 9.5 she is feeling so cool to run and I wouldn't go as far as comfy slippers but she is more predictable! 

As it was the Queens Platinum Jubilee weekend the rosettes were very appropriate! 

Brodie and Bean are doing well at the moment. Brodie is a little bit stiff but at 15.5 that is to be expected! 💙 He can't be on supplements due to his pancreatitis so we are careful to manage his exercise but he still enjoys two 15-20 min walks a day. 

Brooke is loving doing bits of hoopers and at any other time is generally the laziest dog we have ever owned! When she does work she is a barky mad whirlwind though!! 💚 Here she is doing some hoopers recently

Branston Pickle is now 11.5 months old! ❤ He is cuddly, funny and loves to learn! We had great fun on a puppy camp with Dan and Dave a couple of weeks ago and his sister Sidr was in his group so it was good for him to focus with the excitement of her and his Grandma Lian there! It was tricky stuff but he was great and worked so well! All of Branstons weekly videos are on my YouTube page on a playlist if anyone wants to catch up with what he has been doing! 

This is more of a note to myself for the records so feel free to skip this paragraph! So far Bran has worked on loose lefts/rights, wing wraps and starting those as rear crosses. We have done wrapped rounds, just started push round slices, threadle wraps and slices and wrong end of tunnel/tight tunnel turns. We have put our mat on a plank a couple of times and he seems to be getting the hang of it! 

Mums 70th Birthday visit!

 We had such a lovely time over the past couple of weekends catching up with my family and celebrating my Mums 70th birthday! The weather wasn't brilliant on our family get together but the house that was base for the day was huge and had plenty of space for us all. There was also a nice paddock for the dogs to have a run around in. Spark found a frisbee which made her day although she couldn't run with it hanging down as she is so dinky so she quickly figured out she could run with it in the air!

Part of my Mums Birthday surprise was this beautiful Birthday cake made my talented friend Julie at Julies Cake Company!! The detail was amazing and the cake was delicious 😍 We spent the day catching up and it was so nice to see everyone! Branston was impeccably behaved which was a relief as he hasn't been in other houses before!

Workshops, Inspire and garden update

 Last week Matt had a rare afternoon off to train Bru and I took Spark to a Dan workshop. The course was really interesting as it included 8 tunnels with multiple exits...some straight, some tight and some loose turns with traps which really tested the dogs! No video from Sparks first sequence as I forgot to set up my tripod, by half way through Matt had arrived so he took over filming!

Spark and Brooke had the weekend off competing but Bru was entered into Inspire and he did really well getting a further two Grade 4 Agility wins! The progression rules changed not that long ago and have gone from needing one win at each grade to move up to Grade 5 to needing multiple wins at every grade. It is good for slowing the progression rate down but also frustrating post covid as there is also still the 25 days 'limbo' period from winning into your new grade to actually competing at it! Bru now has three of his four wins needed to go to grade 5 (two need to be agility so that is fine) Matt also trained his seesaws at Inspire so he learns he can't release until told in the ring as well. The garden is starting to look more organised finally! The runner beans are finally growing well, the ones we planted straight into the veg bed are looking great. I am also trying peppers this year and so far so good!

Its been 25 degrees plus most days this week so I filled up the tub for the dogs and Toad stood in it for about ten mins! 💙
