The KCI that wasn't...

We were supposed to have been at the Kennel Club International Festival on Saturday but it got cancelled very sensibly due to heavy rain and high winds. We spent the weekend at home doing a few jobs and did some training in the field as well. Sparkle had the all clear from the physio so it was nice to be back running her again! Bru managed to sequence weaves which was amazing!!

Bru has also been getting used to being bio-mag'd after training...he hates it!! This is the grumpiest he ever looks tho, he is so sweet!

I am lucky enough to teach someone with their own chickens and I get lovely free range eggs from her, imagine my delight in finding a double yoke on my Sunday morning brunch 🍳

Spark was on lead walks for the previous week and very cross about it but we did a few out about town things including a visit to Cafe Nero where we met this teeny yorkie! Spark looks like a giant but she is teeny for a collie!

The shelties spent the one sunny afternoon this week 'helping' in the garden, our tomatoes are coming on nicely. You can just about see them behind Bru

Brodie looking devastatingly handsome as usual!!

And the ginger girls soaking up the sun! Our sunflowers are doing well again this year 🌻

Such a cute trio...they look like they are ordering drinks at a bar!

This is more the scene from our walks this week, raincoats on again and a grumpy Brax!

And Sparks first off lead walk after the all clear...freedom!!

I baked a courgette cake at the weekend as we have sooooo many! It is very tasty! Lemon curd filling and buttercream icing....yummy!

Agility Club Show and T&A Bru's first jumping win!

The girls were entered into champ at Agility Club and the boys had an anysize/veteran agility run each. We walked the champ jumping first and agreed that we would run our own dogs today. The course was not easy so I was very pleased to get Spark round it and to finish 7th! She didn't feel quite 'on it' and was beaten by a couple of dogs that she is normally a good second ahead of...more about this later. Brooke was wild and wasn't listening to Matt at all so got taken out in disgrace and also didn't run the agility as it was windy! Sparks agility round ended up in an E, I didn't connect as I ran off up the dog walk and she came with me. Bru had an absolute blast in his anysize and although they weren't placing he was the fastest with a ground speed of 6.5 metres per second! Brodie loves veteran agility but sadly no video of him going clear.

Bru Anysize

It was lovely after doing a few big shows to do T&A (which also has amazing cheesy chips in their cafe 😋) Bru was on form and actually got his weaves in the ring first time and won his jumping class!!

Not to be outdone by her nephew, Brooke won her jumping and agility classes! Her agility course was really tricky but fun to run.

Spark had the fastest time over the same course by ten seconds but took two poles....arggghh!! She also was the fastest time with a pole in the jumping, it was a lovely course to run though!

I took Spark and Brodie to UKA on Masters day, Brodie was an absolute dude and won his casual jumping! Spark did a cracking run in the Masters jumping but again took two poles. I'm sad I don't have a video as it was a tricky course and she was such a good girly! The fact she was taking poles was bothering me so I got her booked in with our lovely physio Sally last Friday and she had a jammed up sacroiliac joint and was very sore 😔 I feel terrible that I had been running her and she was trying so hard for me! She is being checked over again on Thursday so I'm hoping she will be able to play at KCI!
